Professor Debbie Holley
PhD BA (Hons) MSc FCILT PFHEA FRSA NTF
Debbie is Professor of Learning Innovation at Bournemouth University, a National Teaching Fellow and a Principle Fellow of the HEA (now AdvanceHE). As a passionate educator her work focuses on the blend between formal and informal classrooms, seeking to engage students in the 'inbetween' spaces, and co-creating authentic learning experiences. Based in the department of Nursing Sciences, her research interests are in digital futures and innovation, particularly in scaling technologies, simulation, digital health and wellbeing. Recent interesting projects include the International Panel of Experts Delphi study which produced ‘State of XR and Immersive Learning’ project for Immersive Learning Research Network; and she is currently working with EU researchers on reframing the EU Digicomp framework areas of digital health and wellbeing. Debbie is a JISC digital expert on their student experience panel, and a regular keynote speaker at educational, technological and policy conferences, both in the UK and internationally.
